Can I have a Health Savings Account if I am on Medicare?

Yes and no. Individuals enrolled in Medicare are not eligible to establish an HSA, but if they have a positive balance in an existing HSA, they are permitted to keep it and spend the funds on any qualified medical expenses while covered by Medicare.

Coaches' Takeaway
