What are qualities you look for in a Benefits Advisor and help with CDHP?

Make sure your benefits advisor has CDHP experience. Ask if they have testimonials and case studies from actual clients to demonstrate their CDHP knowledge and experience.

Ask your benefits advisor:

  • What resources do you provide? (Risk Management, Compliance, Wellness, Communication, Education and other relationship investments?)
  • Are those services offered from within their agency or outside through a strategic partnership?
  • What support and ongoing education/communication do they offer? What is the frequency? What communication styles do they use?
  • Do they offer testimonials and case studies demonstrating their knowledge and experience?
  • Can your Advisor provide you with a multi-year CDHP strategic action plan?

It is important to learn everything you can about CDHPs from your benefits advisor and insurance plan partners. Resources and coaching should be available, so be sure to ask for them. The mission of CDHP members is to become more informed. Consider the plan that is best for you and take the time to project how much money you’ll save and what strategies you want to employ to improve the  health and wellbeing of your employees. If you stumble over any of these issues, ask for help—that is what your benefits advisor should offer.
