How do I encourage CDHP adoption if it's offered as an option?

Through proper education and communication, employers need to debunk the myths/misconceptions regarding CDHPs. In addition, employers should be cognizant of what motivates employees to enroll. Addressing these concerns upfront will help toward building a solid foundation of communication, education, and trust within your program.

Coaches' Takeaway

When offered as an option, employers should create a health insurance premium differential of at least 10% in favor of the CDHP and ensure the CDHP design is comparable in benefit to the traditional plans being offered. Employees are more likely to react positively to a new health plan when they see there is already support for it—support lends legitimacy to the plan.
